100 Girls of Code 2017:
April 8th, 2017 – Today CBU and IEEE hosted the 100 Girls of Code on campus. The mission of 100 Girls of Code is to influence more gender parity in STEM fields by introducing young women to programming, code and aspects of computer engineers to inspire more girls to pursue a future in the STEM disciplines.
The young ladies played with Green Foot, programming a little crab to move across the screen using java based commands.
The 10-18 year olds enjoyed themselves withou ooh’s and ah’s while adding worms to their worlds. For more information on the next available workshop, visit 100 Girls of Code’s Official Website.
