Steven MenezesChair of Student Branch Steven is a junior in Electircal Computer Engineering and Computer Science. He grew up in Muscat, Oman where he was one of the top swimmers in his high school team. He moved to Memphis, TN to earn his Bachelor of Science degree. He is a member of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), the Student/Faculty Judicial Board and the Honors Program. He works as a Multimedia Assistant at CBU's ITS center. He is a member of Alpha Chi and Tau Beta Pi.

Linda TruongVice Chair of Student Branch Linda is a Sophomore Electrical Computer Engineering major. She was born in Boston, MA and raised in Memphis, TN. Her hobbies include digital photography, running, reading, writing, and researching on topics, such as recent gadgets and technology, domestic violence and child abuse, sex trafficking, and the North Korea Crisis. She also enjoys playing her flute and piccolo. Her first year at CBU was successful, bringing back two awards that she and her teammates have earned from SoutheastCon 2010: 1st place Website Design and 1st place T-Shirt Design. In high school, she was the President of Mu Alpha Theta (National Math Honors Society) and Communications Officer of World Cause (non-profit organization). She represented the school competing in the Knowledge Bowl Team and Math Competition Team. | |

Shilpa AppurubugathaSecretary of Student Branch Shilpa is a sophomore Electrical Computer Engineer major. She was born in India and moved to Chicago, IL when she was 5 years old. Since then, she has lived in several cities, including Milwaukee, WI, Pittsburgh, PA, and Seattle, WA. Shilpa attended Houston High School, where she was involved in film and video for four years and directed several theatrical productions. She is the Director of Pirate Radio, a campus radio sponsored by IEEE, and is determined to make major advancements. Shilpa is also involved in various organizations on campus, such as Alpha Xi Delta and SGA Senate. She is a dedicated resident assistant and she also teaches programming for dual enrollment at Christian Brothers High School. Her hobbies include playing her violin, painting, digital design, and traveling. | |

Khai NguyenTreasurer of Student BranchKhai is a Junior Electrical Computer Engineering major. He was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam and moved to Memphis, TN with his family when he was five. His hobbies include exercising, playing sports, and hip-hop dancing. He loves to play the saxophone and piano. He graduated from high school ranking top five in his class. He and his teammates were awarded 1st place in T-Shirt Design at the SoutheastCon 2010. He plans to graduate in May of 2012 and pursue a Master of Engineering Management. | |

Martin TriboTechnical Advisor of Student Branch Martin is a Sophomore majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He began attending Christian Brothers University after graduating from Lausanne Collegiate School with a scientific diploma in 2009. His main hobby is programming which he began doing in 2005 towards the end of middle school, giving him experience in several languages such as Python, PHP and C++. His other hobbies include running, playing the violin and practicing Kendo (a martial arts). |

DR. JOHN VENTURACBU Student Branch Counselor Dr. John Ventura is the Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at CBU. He graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Christian Brothers College and earned a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida in 1967. He has a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and currently holds licenses in the following states: Tennessee - Professional Engineer (retired) and Mississippi - Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor. John is a senior member in IEEE, serves as the IEEE student advisor at CBU, and serves as the student coordinator for the Memphis Section of IEEE . |
